Thank you Brice Ernst
League Startups!

Hello all KDGC Members!

By now, we are sure that most KDGC Members have experienced hole 10 at Rose Hill, with the triple mando that was installed last year. The Maintenance team did a great job, led by Zach Bernier, to get that installed and in play for tournament season last year. Dubbed the "Gates of Rosehalla", this feature adds a lot to the finish of the course, and in conjunction with other 2024 updates that are planned, is part of updating Rose Hill to a more professional and tournament-ready course!

What many may not know, is that this feature was sponsored by one of our club members; Brice Ernst through his real estate Business "Brice Ernst Real Estate"!

The Signs are now up for all to see, but we wanted to spotlight Brice's Donation to the KDGC, which helped make this a reality. It is because of members like Brice who donate time and money into our club, that everything we do is possible.

Thank you Brice for your donation!

Also, thank you Zach and team for installing this great feature.

Be sure to keep an eye out this year for a few improvements to the Gates of Rosehalla triple mando and maybe a few course improvements as well.

News from your KDGC Board

Valkyries is back April 11, 2024!

The KDGC is excited to announce that Valkyries is back on April 11, 2024 and is being spear headed by the wonderful and Chilly Chains Challenges legend, Elizabeth de Vries!

As you can see from the image, every Thursday night at Westsyde Centennial Disc Golf Course there not only is a ladies 18 hole round, but it is starting with various skills clinics before stepping on the course! From putting to patent pending. You need to be a member to play!

If you are a lady and are interested in improving your skills, trying something new, and playing in a safe, encouraging, and welcoming environment, be sure to get involved with Valkyries.

The best thing for someone to do who may be interested in an event like this to ask Elizabeth, she is open and excited to get others involved in any capacity. Also, all levels of female-identifying players are welcome - women and girls. Anyone that is getting this email should spread the word to those they see on the course. If people take a screenshot of the lovely green schedule, they can share that image to any players they think might be interested in Valkyries.

Your empties can help the KDGC

Do you have piles of empty cans taking up space at your home and place of work? Do you often feel like you do not contribute to any good causes? Do you want to help out your local disc golf club without coming out to all those stinky course maintenance days?

Well folks, we are about to make your day!

At General Grant's Sahali Bottle & Recycle Depot, you can drop off your bags of empty drink cans, glass bottles, milk jugs, tetra packs, etc. with "KDGC" labelled on them and all the return funds will go straight to the club to help fund all KDGC efforts in Kamloops. Your returns need to be in a clear bag and your "KDGC" marking can be on a piece of paper taped to the bag. To make it even easier these bags can be dropped off at the backdoor of the facility by the back door.

Easy peasy right?

KDGC

One of our ongoing goals is to grow our clubs membership. Truthfully, everything we do is ONLY possible with a strong membership base. While it might not seem like a lot at $30 for membership, it goes further than most might think in making sure we have great courses and a healthly club. We grow only through you all sharing as the sport and community grows. Thank you for growing our club!
